West London Long Term Rentals

W12 Shepherds Bush

A hive of activity, the Shepherd’s Bush W12 area is becoming increasingly popular with buyers and renters as the place to be. It’s the home to London’s Westfield shopping centre and plenty of bustling bars and music venues, including the 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire building, so there’s no shortage of exciting things to do in this district of West London.

If you’re considering putting down roots in London and want a place that has plenty of activities and dining options on its doorstep, excellent travel links and outstanding schools, it’s well worth circling Shepherd’s Bush on your map.

W4 Chiswick

Victorian cottages and Edwardian terraces can be found off the High Road, which also boasts grand mansion blocks. The most prestigious area is on the riverbank around Chiswick Mall where there are some very elegant period houses overlooking the Thames.

There are also several new housing developments popping up near the riverbank.

The main shopping area is Chiswick High Road.

Likewise the bars and cafes are mainly situated on Chiswick High Road

There are some lovely riverside walks around Chiswick Mall and the beautiful eighteenth century Chiswick House has extensive grounds and is a peaceful retreat.

W6 Hammersmith

There are some Mansion blocks and terraces, many of which have now been converted into apartments. Some large Georgian houses can still be found overlooking the river.

Hammersmith town centre is the main shopping area. There is also a large indoor shopping mall and the Broadway Centre which offer a wide range of facilities and the usual high street names.

Hammersmith is certainly not hard up for things to do. Plenty of bars and restaurants including the riverside pubs.

The Riverside Studios Arts Centre and The Lyric Theatre will satisfy most peoples cultural needs. It also boasts the famous River Cafe.

Ravenscourt Park is the largest open space and contains a lake and pretty gardens and the Thames Path runs through the area.

W3 Acton

A great range of different architectural styles can be found in Acton including Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses and flat conversions, ex-local authority homes and modern developments. North and West Acton are mainly residential areas with leafy streets and a distinctly Tudor feel to some of the timbered houses and flats in the West.

The Acton community is diverse and multi-cultural leading to a rich choice of places to eat and things to do. Acton has a mid summer community Carnival with music, dance, arts, food and stalls and the recently refurbished 'Mount' on Acton High Street hosts a Market at the weekends with stalls selling arts, crafts, jewellery, cards and clothes, and farmer's market stalls selling fresh produce. The library, swimming baths, and Town Hall in Acton are all examples of tall Victorian municipal buildings that can be found along the High Street.

Two great parks open to the public in Acton include: Gunnersbury Park, the largest in the area and located south of Acton Town tube. This vast space houses a pitch n' putt, a museum, a pond and often plays host to sporting events. Winner of a Green Flag award, Acton Park features bowls facilities, a children’s play area, tennis courts, a basket/football court, a pond and an art block. There is also a cafe next to the bowling green.

W5, W13 Ealing

Middle class Ealing represents suburban London at its best. Popular with white collar workers and young professionals who value a quick trip to the City. It is essentially a pleasant family area, with attractive houses set in leafy streets.

Pleasant leafy streets of terraced, detached and semi detached houses giving the area a suburban feel. Toward Ealing Broadway, there are many older, grand looking Victorian houses. There are many blocks of private flats throughout W5, many near to Hanger Lane Station.

The main shopping area is around Ealing Broadway where there is a large indoor shopping mall. There is also a large number of smaller boutique type shops.

Ealing offers plenty of bars, pubs and restaurants as well as a cinema.

Ealing can offer the choice of two golf courses, Ealing Golf Course and Hanger Hill Golf Course. There are a number of open spaces which include Walpole Park and Pitshanger Park which both offer various sporting facilities.

SW15 Putney

Putney's quiet side streets are filled with large characterful period houses, typically occupied by middle and high-income families. They are generally larger than average London houses and might typically feature a large rear garden. There are also some apartments in some of the stylish art Deco buildings around the high street that prove attractive to sharing professionals.

The high street features four supermarkets, numerous high street names and a large shopping mall. There is a cinema and most recent additions include river front bars at the redeveloped docks. Overall the area is well catered for with a good balance of amenities, shopping and night life.

Both Putney Common and Wandsworth Park offer lots of greenery, as well as some sporting facilities, and the stunning Richmond Park is easily accessible.

Higher income families are the main group of residents as the large, attractive period properties of Putney generally prove to be too pricey for sharers or young couples.
